Samsung OM series questions
Is the Samsung OM55B 3,000 or 3,500 nits?
Samsung's product data lists the OM55B at 3,000 nits and 3840 × 2160 (4K). Some store listings and older case studies say 3,500 nits and Full HD. We go with the manufacturer data, so this page says 3,000.
Which Samsung OM model is brightest?
The OM46B and OM75A are the brightest Samsung OM models, both rated 4,000 nits on Samsung's data, while the OM55B and the double-sided OM55N-DS are rated 3,000, so for a south or west window with no awning pick one of the 4,000-nit pair. Shaded or north-facing glass gets by on the 3,000-nit OM55B.
Are Samsung OM displays rated for 24/7?
Yes. Samsung lists the OM46B, OM55B and OM75A for 24/7 operation between 0 and 40 °C. The OM55N-DS record we use doesn't list a duty cycle, so ask us before you plan round-the-clock use.
Can I use an OM display outdoors?
No. The OM series is built to sit behind glass, not to take rain and dust. For a screen with no enclosure, look at the Samsung OH outdoor series, which Samsung rates IP56.
What mount does a Samsung OM display use?
The OM46B, OM55B and OM75A all use a 400 × 400 VESA pattern. Floor stands, ceiling hangs and cable kits are quoted per window because the right one depends on the window bed and ceiling.
Does the OM series need a media player?
No. Each OM panel has a Tizen player built in, so it can run a USB playlist, MagicINFO or Samsung VXT on its own. See how MagicINFO licensing works.
